Where are you located?  Do you travel?

We exist bicoastal, in the hills of Pennsylvania (Lancaster) and the desert of California (Joshua Tree area).  Your love brings us together.  We're happy to travel to wherever you lead.  We sure do adore a good road trip!

What do the travel costs include?

Once we receive your venue information we will be able to provide more insight. It depends on whether we'll be driving or flying to you (for one or both of us). Maybe the stars will align and we'll just happen to already be near you for another shoot close to your wedding date (it has happened before) or because we've already planned on visiting loved ones in the area. However, it is certain that if we are required to drive more than 3 hours to your venue, we will request a fee for overnight accommodations. That way, we're guaranteed to arrive on time on your wedding date. Stressing about traffic conditions is something we'd like to avoid (and save you from), as well as exhaustion after a long day of shooting.  

How do we book with Sage & Swan?

Send us a love note and we'll be happy to share our wedding photography package list.  After you get a chance to review it we'll send our consultation questions for you to complete.  Then we'll fill out a contract for you to sign. 

What is the payment schedule?

A deposit of $400 is due with your signed contract to reserve your date with us.   The final payment is due at least three weeks before your wedding date.  Paying in smaller increments is always an option up until the 3 week mark.  

What does your editing process look like?

We select our favorite images from your day.  Our editing is an important process in regards to properly telling your story.  We do not do any heavy-handed or trendy edits*, as we wish to provide you with images that you'll love years after the fact.  Your photographs will properly represent the feeling that your wedding day creates.  We strive to create family heirlooms.  We also do not do touch-up work, as we intend to celebrate natural beauty and self-love.       YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.  

Our turn-around time is 6-8 weeks.  You'll see a preview on our blog first, which is followed by a password protected gallery of all of your selected images.  You are able to download the images from the gallery, but we also offer a flash drive of high resolution images as an add-on (unless you've chosen the Swan package, which includes a flash drive).

*note: Anything that "looks like magic" was done in-camera (i.e.; double exposures, lens flares, rainbows, gold shimmers etc).

Do your packages include an engagement session?

They do not, but we'd be happy to include one as an add-on.  You get to choose a location that is special to you as a couple... or just ask us for suggestions.  

Is it possible to add more time to our wedding day coverage?

Yes, we can include additional hours into your chose photography package.  Sometimes couples do this if they'd like us to cover the getting ready process or stay until the end of the night, and sometimes even for festivities after the reception.  The price can be found on the a la carte list that we will send to you.  

Something to consider:  we love doing "day after" shoots.  This is a fun way to get the portraits that there wasn't time for at the wedding, at another location, or because you didn't want to get your wedding attire dirty on the day.  They are similar to "trash the dress" sessions, but even more sentimental because you're still feeling the energy from the wedding.  They're always full of the glow and serenity of newlywed bliss.  This session would be the same cost as an engagement session and is possible based on our availability.  Otherwise, a "depths" session is always an option at a later date.  Please visit our "depths" gallery on this site for examples.  

What would you like for dinner?

We would be so grateful if you could provide us with one vegan entree option and a second entree that is either seafood or vegetarian.  Please and thank you xo

Who owns the rights to the photos?

Our contract states that we have the right to use the photos for promotional use (ie; blog, website, etc).  We give you the right to use the photos for personal use only.  You also have the right to create prints or you can order them right from your personal gallery.  Otherwise, our approval is needed to share the images with any other vendor, publication, etc.  

"We're not comfortable in front of the camera.  Will you tell us what to do"?

Generally, we try not to interfere too much in the portrait process.  We steer away from poses that feel forced or awkward.  We really, truly, want to document your love in the ways that it is special to you: how you hold hands and each other, your touch, your humor, your genuine smiles. Normally, we'll just provide a quiet moment for you to whisper sweet nothings, share secrets, express your joy... or make-out (go for it!).   

Rest assured, there's no need to worry.  Love is all you need :)

If you don't think you can shake the jitters:  consider doing an engagement session so you can get comfortable in front of the camera.  It will also give us a chance to experience how you interact naturally.  It's always a good time!
