I met Emily and Jonah alongside her mom and their grandparents at the local courthouse. They had finished their vows in less than ten minutes and were ready to shoot a single family photo before the two of them and I hit the road. Emily and I have been on the road together a few times before and so it felt pretty natural to magically come across the perfect location while navigating ourselves toward another destination altogether. A small cherry orchard, in early bloom. I watched them move in the intimate space the two of them had created privately for themselves this morning. A world of their own, there amongst the flowers, the soft petal complimenting the solid bark, creating a living, breathing, intelligent thing of beauty.
